I am a NJ licensed clinical social worker. I am originally from Long Island, NY. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Loyola College in Baltimore, MD. I received my Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Fordham University in 1993.
I provide individual therapy to adults. Over the past 30+ years, I have had experience treating a variety of issues, including depression, substance abuse, anxiety, life transitions, and trauma. I have worked in inpatient, outpatient, and residential settings, and mental health and substance abuse settings, in addition to my private practice. I am very interested in helping young adults navigate the transition to independence while dealing with issues of identity, sexuality, and relationships.
My therapeutic approach blends EMDR with psychodynamic and humanistic approaches. My style is active, relaxed, and collaborative. Your initial goal may be to relieve symptoms of pain and distress and to decrease the frequency of self-defeating behaviors. I will also help you gain insight into how your past, present, and future are connected through your patterns of living in and relating to the world. Ideally, treatment will end with increased joy, confidence, and a greater awareness of and appreciation for yourself.
